Rain City Cinema LLC is a Washington State company engaged in independent filmmaking.

Founded in 1997 by Filmmaker Paul Gorman, the production team at Rain City Cinema has more than 50 years combined experience in film production and post production, as well as having written and produced numerous short and feature films.

 

Their short films WAITING FOR MERRITT and PRISONER OF POETRY were acclaimed by Seattle Times and Rotten Tomatoes' critics, John Hartle and John Voorhees, and their trailer for THE LAST MIRAGE screened in Cannes at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival.

Their first feature film, BROKEN FRAME was acclaimed as Film of The Day in the UK and chosen as Pick Of The Week by Seattle's Scarecrow Video.

 

RIDE THE SKY, their second feature film, was an official selection at film festivals in Croatia and Canada where it won awards, and in 2014 appeared at nine film festivals in the U.S.. The book, Running Down A Dream: The making of a film, by Director Paul Gorman shares his experiences making the film.

Paul Gorman's second book, Into Trouble, will be available October of 2021.

Presently, two of their films are in post production, and seven are in development.
